My New Apartment!

I am so very excited to tell you all about my new apartment. It is the best apartment I could ever have asked for, especially considering that I’m paying roughly half the going rate.

I’ll take some photos of the neighborhood in the next few days (it’s gorgeous, lots of trees and old buildings and very chic restaurants).

The following is a (very) short photographic journey into my new building and apartment. Taking pictures of small rooms is very frustrating because unfortunately cameras can only zoom in. The person who invents a camera that zooms out will be set for life. (captions are underneath the photo)

These are the stairs leading up to my apartment, and that’s my balcony up top. This is just one corner of the building. As a whole, it reminds me of a big museum, tons of marble everywhere. There’s a ton of greenery, too. I’m in charge of watering the plants 2X a week. They don’t bark to remind me to take care of them, like Nevada does.

Check out how big my bed is! It’s a king size (a huge improvement over the twin I was sleeping on in NY)! Also, thanks to my friend Marissa for the awesome photos you (can’t really) see in the background!

Here’s another photo from a different angle!

Last, but most certainly not least, check out the juicing station in the kitchen. Apparently at one point there was a real juice freak living here… manual juicer on the left, blender in the middle, power juicer on the right!

That’s it for now. Thanks to everyone for posting comments! I miss you all a ton, especially with Thanksgiving around the corner. Spending American holidays outside of America sucks. I’ll write something more substantive about that on Turkey Day.

Doesn’t this house remind you of NO? Reminds me of Garden District. Bed looks very comfy. Hope you’re getting lots of good sleep. I bet Nevada takes up way too much of the bed though and makes it seem that you’re in a far smaller bed. WILL BE THINKING OF YOU AND JON at Thanksgiving. Happy though to have Lizzy, Greg and Robbie to share it with. Seems like I’m never too far from at least one of you, that’s what I am thankful for!

The apartment looks awesome. Are you going to start juicing? That is so random. I’m really bad at taking care of houseplants, good luck with that. Do other people water on other days, or do the plants only get watered twice a week?

I would like to see more pics of Nevada. Don’t know why, just would like to.

Happy Turkey day, I’ll eat a drumstick in your honor. Love you.

I second the request for more pix of Nevada. Your house looks awesome! How much are you paying in US$ ?

A friend of mine just convinced me to start weightlifing to bulk up a little bit. No matter how into it I get, I’m not gonna start juicing, and neither should you. Be careful with those instruments of destruction in your kitchen.

And happy thanksgiving, Dan! :) (Liz - are you eating a tofurkey drumstick in Dan’s honor?)

Rob, I’m eating real turkey in Dan’s honor. I mean business.
Dan, I think there is a fishbowl type lens that does what you were talking about. Some of the pics from my wedding used that kind of lens. It looks pretty cool.

I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT LIZZY WILL BE EATING TURKEY. STAY TUNED FOR THE TRUTH.

  7. hmp Says:

LOL, Lizzy, that’s called a FISHEYE lens not a fishbowl.

Don’t give up the faith. Last year Dan and I found fresh sliced turkey breast and turkey gravy at Earthfare ON THANKSGIVING DAY.

Dan is ingenious, he’ll find his own turkey.

    Love,

    Dad

I also do not believe that Liz will eat real turkey. Please get some kind of visual evidence, which will need to show the transition from carving to plate to mouth.

Danny, my friends who speak Spanish will be writing to you regularly and expect an answer back, Mr. College Graduate!

and I will get back to you in a few hours with the Lizzie answer.

Lizzy is still a vegetarian. She did not MEAN BUSINESS.

    Dan,

Don’t worry, I didn’t get any turkey either.. I was camping in Joshua Tree, although we did think of running to the store for rotisaree turkey but it probably would’ve been closed. Hope you’re having a blast down there~! I love your blog :)
